Bottling Cordials and Liquors

Once your alcohol base has been racked and is ready to bottle, you have many options to choose from to package your finished product. Any bottle with a tight fitting lid is suitable. If using a pre-used bottle, take into consideration what contents it previously held. There are screw caps, corks or even swing top bottles available depending on how you want to keep or present your cordial.

A funnel will make filling your bottles much easier and cheesecloth will come in handy when straining spices, fruits and herbs from your infusions.

Some liquors may benefit from aging in oak. There are oak cubes available to impart an aged flavor and aging in a new oak barrel will flavor your liquor as well as serve as an attractive serving vessel.
