Fiber and Carbon Filtering of Liquors

Carbon Filtration adds a clarity, crispness, and sparkle to grain alcohol, neutral vodka or clarified LQ™ Super Yeast™/Turbo Yeast and removes unwanted flavors and odors.

The activated charcoal functions by filtering out larger molecules containing fusel oil and other fermentation byproducts while allowing smaller molecules such as water and alcohol pass through.

This 6-1/2 gallon bottling bucket has a flow valve that allows beer to flow freely from the pail into the bottle. The bucket can also serve as a mixing tank for the priming sugar. We recommend attaching the Bottle Filler to the spigot for more complete control.

Also recommend for use with the Carbon Snake active charcoal filter.

The #1 (6.0 micron) pads are coarse pads, strongly recommended for heavy wines. These pads will not show a significant change in clarity of your wine. They are used to collect and/or break down large particles.

The #2 (1.0 micron) pads are finer and are used to obtain brightness and polish in your wine. A significant change will be achieved in clarity at this stage.

The #3 (0.5 micron) pads are used to further improve the clarity of your wine and to extract a high percentage of yeast cells. The wine must be filtered with the #2 pads prior to using these filter pads. This step in the filtration process decreases the probability of re-fermentation prior to bottling.

This easy-to-use carbon purification system is designed to remove unwanted odors and flavors from fermented alcohol-bases such as the base made with High Alcohol SuperYeast™. Those of you who have been hesitant to make the base used with Liquor Quik�?� brand essences because of not having a carbon filter to clear it can now do so with confidence. Manufactured of food-grade, ethanol resistant plastic, the unit attaches to the spigot on a bottling bucket, comes with an initial supply of carbon along with complete instructions for use.

Filter papers for use in combination with CRYSTALBRIGHT FILTER PADS to increase filter efficiency. Vinpapers are wet strength filter papers 6.5cm diameter and are also available to fit the VINBRITE filter. When using these papers, the side of the support disc marked B (which is flat and has no rib), must be pressed against the filter paper.

Use with Vinbrite Filter or large screen funnels. Pads are 15cm diameter package of six filters with minimum 1.14 micron, maximum 5.23 micron.
