Sugars & Sweeteners

Adjunct sugars are any sugar source other than barley malt, used to make beer. Table sugar is the most basic and refined sugar. It will not add flavor or aroma to the brew; use when you want to boost gravity without sweetness and body. Lactose is unfermentable milk sugar. It adds a very light sweetness to beer and boosts the final gravity, good for use in stouts. Honey is a good choice to add flavor and aroma to your homebrew.
