Air Lock Bubblers for Beer Fermentation
An air lock is a device used to create a one way seal. It uses gravity and water to allow pressurized gas to escape the fermenter while preventing outside air to enter. An air lock is attached to the lid of a fermentation pail using a rubber grommet or small rubber stopper with a hole drilled through it. The air lock can also used on any glass or plastic bottle when the appropriate size rubber stopper is used.
Prepare the air lock and stopper by cleaning and sanitizing them. Fill the air lock half way with clean water. Install the air lock directly into the pail lid grommet or attach it to the rubber stopper then, insert the stopper into the bottle or carboy.
You can test the seal by pressing down on the pail lid or gently rocking the bottle.

Large water lock capacity which reduces the chance of the device going dry and allowing bacteria to enter the wine or beer. The large air way reduces the chance of blow off during primary fermentation. Stopper not included. |

The air lock is a critical tool for making homemade wine and homebrew. This simple device protects fermenting and aging wine from infection while allowing carbon dioxide gas to freely escape the fermentation vessel. The twin bubbler air lock does not include a stopper. |
