Half-gallon clear glass jug or ‘growler’, the term ‘growler’ comes from a European term describing a bucket for transporting beer before bottles and cans. In the past, children would be sent to the nearest brewpub by their father to have the growler filled. Today's growler is a 64 oz. glass jug. They are sold in cases of 6 or each, with white plastic cap.
